2001: Well I had to go and I'll do it again.  This year it worked out perfectly that we got to go to the famous Hallow'een celebration at The Castro.  Annie and Charles used to live there so they drove and knew of a secret place to park!  We went with them, Lucy and a friend of theirs named Noah who dressed as a jungle explorer complete with poisonous spider on his back.  What was in that canteen anyway??  I didn't get too many pictures because we were pretty hemmed in most of the time and things moved pretty fast.  but I did get to see the rockem sockem robots and the giant oven mitts.

This pumpkinhead had a hard time talking on his cell phone!  Behind him, Williams & Sonoma is boarded up in case things get out of hand. I dream of a whole rainbow of Jeannies.  There was also a rainbow of all male Lady Liberties. Annie's favorite: tennis sensations Venus and Serena Williams... I knew they were on steroids. This guy totally creeped me out.

I have no idea what these guys are mining for... minors?  I think we have a new addition to the Village People! A blue man complete with home-made instruments he actually played! This Bay Watch group had a whole skit they performed over and over that utilized a very involved form of CPR and a giant rubber shark. This was my favorite: gorilla carrying explorer in a cage!

It was a huge crowd as you can see and the whole thing was entirely peaceful.
KPIX estimated that a quarter-million attended the celebrations.
