For those of you still thinking I'm not female, this should convince you.  I spend way to much time worrying about my hair.  (Well, it is the only thing you wear every day.)  I had it the same way for 20 years (over 24 inches long, all one length) and then in 2002 had about a foot of it cut off.  I just went in and told Mark at 77 Maiden Lane  to just do whatever he wanted, and that is what he did.  So it was shoulder length for a while.  Then Mark talked me into highlights, including a streak kind of thing.  Some days I thought it looked cool, others I thought I looked silly with highlights.

Then a year later, Mark was out, so I went to Massato, the tournament chess-playing stylist who likes to talk about London and his latest art projects.  I also told him to do whatever he wanted.  See, I figure they are pros, I should let them do what they think is best.  He hacked even more off and gave it that messy-all-the-time-but-no-really-I-planned-it-that-way look.  Later he added these bangy wisps that hang in my face.  I'm still not sure if I like it.
The thing I do like, however, is that he recommended going back to my real color, since he doesn't think highlights are "appropriate for Winter".  Here is the play by play:

Like other female MJ Issei, I had some long-ass hair.  (l to r: Peachy, Munin, Zemlet)

Right after the initial Mark cut. Then Mark talked me into these highlight things, wasn't sure about them. Then, of course, new glasses to go with the whole thing. Here is the Massato cut.
