yay work
I got a small job doing more layout work, which is so fun. They did a pretty good job putting together this page (before shown left) but I think my version (on the right) has a little more somethin' somethin' going on. Yipee!

All the images below of the wedding and reception are from Henry and Sara. Our official pics are being processed and will be available soon. At the reception, Bob and Cilla already had made a DVD to tell the story of the wedding, from how I came downstairs in my robe to see the cake (and ran into half the people I know) to the post ceremony cuddling session. These are from the cermemony itself:

Post Wedding Mortem
Lack of blog posts = busy planning wedding + getting married
There is so much to share, but do you really want all the cutsey details of our home made wedding? Do you want to hear about how we had it at home and how everyone helped? How about the custom blend of tea that included heart-shaped dried orange peel pieces I made myself, given out in hand sewn organza bags? How about how I showed up to Snappy Dragon on the day of the reception and asked for food, you know, for 50... now. (I wore the veil, how could they say no?) Yes Snappy Dragon catered and they had that yummy food ready in like half an hour- they are amazing. I cannot say enough good things about all our vendors, actually. Maxine herself not only did the bouquets and boutonnieres, she later worked with all our sneaky friends to redecorate our bedroom to make a honeymoon suite. They had a sign for the door custom made and decorated with flower petals, gardenias, cute notes, food and drink and bubble bath and candles everywhere... it was amazing! Bonnie of New Renaissance Cakes let me design my own cake and totally dictate how it should be and oh lord was that frosting ever good!!! OH! And because I always wanted to, we had a second cake! We had a traditional Finnish wedding cake shipped up full of yummy marzipan goodness from Solvang Bakery. Do you want to hear about that? How about how I made my own wedding dress and was still sewing it a few hours before I put it on? And how I made my Dad paint the wall to match it? Well you know I could go on and on, but I'll wait for the photos and talk about it all again then. We have already seen a preview of the amazing images captured by husband and wife photography team Bob and Cilla of Rathbone Images. You'll just die!
For now a lesson: How to have a good reception. Step 1: Make the drinks yourself. It is your way of showing your love for the guests, so don't be stingy with the gin. Step 2: Let people drink right out of the punch bowl. Step 3: Be a responsible host! Make sure the bowl is properly labelled indicating how alcoholic each drink is purported to be.

Power Shopping as a Raid
Yesterday we 5-manned Nordstrom, a high level instance inside Northgate. We had a warrior, two hunters and two paladins- so you can imagine the auras we had going. We cleared the low level trash mobs quite easily to get to the final room. Opening with a Challenging Shout, Britta tanked the main boss: a sales guy from Men's Furnishings. The rest of us took care of adds and saw if there was anything good in the chests and bone piles. There was some confusion when LE went off to mine what she claimed was dark iron, but we all know it was shoes. KK, who is always looking to increase her fashion... errr! I mean faction, seemed to have scored a roll of plans or recipes of some kind, that she kept hidden in a runecloth bag. While Rowan kept rolling on all the phat hunter lewt, he ended up not taking anything back to the bank. At least he got to dressing room a lot of gear that might arguably be for other classes. (I am sure that first set would have been better on a Shammy.) To be honest, I think he spent most of the time on auto follow. In the end, Jonathan got some pretty sweet drops, including a few purples and some leather shoes that have a lot more agility than his other pairs. He completed two matching sets of armor that should increase his stats nicely, especially with the set bonus that lowers aggro.
Tune in next week, when we talk about the guilds that are crafting our new rings. We think they have a lot of int and str and will regenerate our mana for years to come. The set bonus adds to healing, if they are used together, and increases the hit points of both wearers when they stand within 20 yards of each other in line of sight.
